The goal of the "Silent Night" <br /> program was to eliminate the random gunfire that occurs every New Year's Eve which <br /> creates a very dangerous and frightening situation in the neighborhoods. Letters were sent <br /> to the media thanking them for publicizing this important program. (207) <br /> Mayor Gasparini presented a plaque to Sergeant Wilkins for his leadership and <br /> organization of "Silent Night". Sergeant Wilkins introduced his family. He described the <br /> "Silent Night" program and introduced his fellow officers whose presence and <br /> participation were vital to ensuring a "Silent Night".
