Proclamation to Pauline Truscelli congratulating her on being named the Outstanding <br /> Citizen of the Year by the American Legion and Redwood City Almanac; (207) <br /> Mayor Gasparini read the proclamation and presented it to Pauline Truscelli, and <br /> thanked her for her remarkable services to the people of Redwood City over the years. <br /> Mayor Gasparini presented a Proclamation to Mrs. Truscelli proclaiming March 11, 1995, <br /> Arbor Day in Redwood City, that was also given to the Native Daughters of the Golden <br /> West, Bonita Parlor, at the occasion of the tree planting ceremony on March 11 in honor of <br /> Rico Bertolucci. Pauline Truscelli thanked the Council and described her volunteer work <br /> at the gift shop in the Veterans Memorial Senior Center and her support and <br /> Chairwomanship of the Arbor Day Tree planting program. Mrs. Truscelli advised that two <br /> years ago the International Arborists Organization presented the Gold Leaf Award to <br /> Redwood City for its Arbor day tree planting program and its overall commitment to tree <br /> planting in the City. <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 95-066 <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> C. Proclamation acknowledging the important achievements of the John Gill School <br /> Intergenerational Program which is supported by the Redwood City School District, <br /> John Gill School principal, staff and parents, and the Redwood City Park, Recreation <br /> and Community Services Department and Senior Center; (207) <br /> Mayor Gasparini read the proclamation and thanked Civic Cultural Commission Chairman <br /> Redington, the Civic Cultural Commission for its support of the INTERGENERATIONAL <br /> Program. Mayor Gasparini asked that the Commission Members, John Gill Principal and <br /> faculty, the program's seniors, Linda Griffiths, Recreation Supervisor Senior Center, to stand up <br /> and be applauded for their commitment to this very successful program. <br /> Mayor Gasparini introduced the Program's co-founder Pam Thornburg, senior <br /> volunteer Jean Nance and Carol Milestone, 3rd grade teacher and participant in the <br /> program. Mrs. Thornburg provided a brief history of the ten year old program that brings <br /> children and seniors together to learn about life and share experiences that teach and <br /> delight, and allow children to learn the value of what is inside a person and how much they <br /> can learn from personal histories.
