Council consideration of the Planning Commission recommendation to amend the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance relating to accessory structures, fence permits and one- story additions, ZT 10501-5, ZT 10502-04, and ZT 10501-4. (602) Affidavit of publication of notice is on file in the City Clerk Department. 1) Staff report: Redwood City Planning Commission, March 27, 1995 Planning Director Patterson presented the recommendation of the Planning Commission and explained that these amendments were designed to speed up the approval process for applicants while retaining adherence to setback requirements and overall appearance and quality, and reduce paper processing by staff. Director Patterson advised that these amendments would serve as incentives for rehabilitating accessory structures, such as detached garages, eliminate requirement for fence permits and first floor architectural permits, while retaining adherence to all existing rules and regulations. In response to Council questions, Director Patterson described the safeguards in place to maintain quality in the neighborhoods, and agreed with Councilwoman Howard that additional mailings to residents regarding these new amendments would be appropriate. 2) Open public hearing; Mayor Gasparini opened the public hearing at 8:25 P.M. 3) Hear public comment; Mayor Gasparini invited anyone who wished to speak to this issue to please come forward and address the Council. No one came forward. 4) Close public hearing; MIS: BUCHAN/HARTNETT TO CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING. CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE AND HEARING CLOSED AT 8:26 P.M.
