UPGRADE TELEPHONE SWITCHING EQUIPMENT FOR CITYWIDE VOICE MAIL
(Removed from the Consent Calendar for discussion at this time.) (304)
REPORT: MIS Manager, April 24, 1995
In response to questions by Councilman Sanfilipo, MIS Manager Gipe advised that this
new switching equipment had been previously scheduled in the Capital Improvement
Projects Program to upgrade the system and tie all three City switches together, the
hardware and software was not located in the temporary nor planned new city hall, and
there were no benefits to be accrued by delaying purchase and installation. MIS Manager
Gipe added that the upgrade would improve customer service by allowing transfers
between City buildings and deleting the operator's instructions on the current voice mail.
MINUTE BOOK NO. 53 Regular Meeting Minutes
Page No. 148 April 24, 1995
Page 5
