Port Chairman Dodge introduced Mike Giari as the new Executive Director of the Port <br /> of Redwood City. <br /> Mayor Gasparini and the Council congratulated Mike Giari on his appointment. <br /> Executive Director Giari thanked Council and City staff and discussed working together <br /> to make the Port a valuable economic asset and a valuable part of the community. <br /> Port Chairman Dodge presented Mayor Gasparini with a check from the Port of <br /> Redwood City to the City of Redwood City in the amount $225,000. <br /> MEMO 5/9/95 <br /> Mayor Gasparini thanked the Port for the check and for working with the City building <br /> communications. <br /> Mayor Gasparini discussed City and Port participation in the state of California <br /> Sesquicentennial Celebration and inclusion in the Tall Ships tour and the $1,000 <br /> commitment to pay for expenses of bringing the tallship. <br /> TITLE READ. Proclamation declaring Letter Carriers Food Drive Day, May 13, 1995; <br /> Mayor Gasparini read the proclamation and presented it to Chuck Bruitt, Manager of <br /> Customer Service for the Redwood City Post Office. Mr. Bruitt stated that notices will be <br /> sent by mail to all San Mateo County residents about the food drive. Non perishable food <br /> items should be left on porches or mailboxes on May 13 and letter couriers will pick up the <br /> items.
