Appointment to the Park and Recreation Commission for two terms, expiring April 30, <br /> 1999. <br /> MIS: BUCHANIHOW ARD TO APPOINT DON DAVIS AND PAULINE <br /> TRUSCELLI TO THE PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION FOR TWO TERMS, <br /> EXPIRING APRIL 30,1999. <br /> ADOPTED BY UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE. <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 95-108 <br /> MAYOR GASPARINI ANNOUNCED THE APPOINTMENT OF DON DAVIS AND <br /> PAULINE TRUSCELLI TO THE PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION FOR 2 -- <br /> FOUR YEAR TERMS. <br /> B. Report from the Public Safety Committee of the City Council <br /> Councilwoman Buchan spoke on behalf of the Public Safety Committee an ad hoc <br /> Committee of the City Council which also includes Councilman Sanfilipo and Vice <br /> Mayor Hartnett. The Committee presented a status report on Public Safety issues which <br /> addressed Police Department staffing, department reorganization, differential response, <br /> Cops Ahead Grant, customer service, Gunshot Location System, future issues such as a <br /> Police Activities League, a school resource officer concept and offering the D.A.R.E <br /> (Drug Abuse Resistance Education, and G.R.E.A.T (Gang Resistance Education and <br /> Training) programs in Redwood City Schools. <br /> Councilwoman Buchan thanked colleagues and staff for their hard work. <br /> Vice Mayor Hartnett expressed his thanks for the approach taken by Police Chief <br /> Bolanos. <br /> Councilwoman La Berge requested further information on the differential response time. <br /> Police Chief Bolanos stated that the objective is to have this plan in place before the end <br /> of the year, more information will be provided later. He described differential response as <br /> the type of call the Police Department responded to in the past or how they respond to calls <br /> for service.
