PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> A. PUBLIC HEARING - on the Appeal of the Zoning Administrator's denial of a Use Permit <br /> to extend hours of operation and to provide an area for dancing in an existing restaurant at <br /> 2550 El Camino Real. Appellant Paul Yen, RC Savoy dba House of Buffet. <br /> Affidavits of mailing and publication are on file in the City Clerk Department. <br /> City Attorney Schricker addressed all members of the audience who will be speaking <br /> during the public hearings for items #6A, #6B, #6C and #6D and requested that everyone <br /> be sworn in at one time. <br /> All speakers for agenda items #6A, #6B, #6C and #6D were sworn in by Senior Deputy <br /> City Clerk Kiely. <br /> 1. Staff Report - Planning Director, May 22, 1995 <br /> Planning Director Patterson described the appeal of the Zoning Administrator's <br /> decision to deny an amendment to a use permit which would allow dancing at 2550 El <br /> Camino Real. (The request was to allow dancing until 2:30 am on Friday and <br /> Saturday). He referenced Section 42.3 of the Zoning Ordinance which relates to use <br /> permits. This particular neighborhood has had several issues to deal with over the last <br /> few years and has had a lot of police supervision, countless hours of employee time <br /> and neighborhood time to address issues. The staff and neighbors are concerned with <br /> the impact on the neighborhood from the added use requested by the Restaurant. The <br /> recommendation to the City Council is to deny the appeal. <br /> In response to a statement from Councilwoman Buchan about the Zoning <br /> Administrator's notification process Planning Director Patterson advised that notices <br /> were sent out to residents and property owners who live within 300 feet of2550 El <br /> Camino Real. <br /> In response to a question from Councilman Sanfilipo, Planning Director Patterson <br /> stated that the application received by the appellants states operating hours are until <br /> 2:30 a.m. and the applicant has been revising the time hoping to a get a favorable <br /> response from the City Council. <br /> Regular Meeting Minutes MINUTE BOOK NO. 53 <br /> May 22, 1995 Page No. 187 <br /> 6 <br /> --- <br />
