The facility, a single-family dwelling, is the applicant's residence. The applicant's residence primarily serves as a single-family dwelling for living ' and sleeping purposes. Ms. Silveira lives at the premises. 3. No structural changes are proposed which will alter the character of the single- family or multi-family residence. (Local guidelines). No structural changes are proposed which will alter the character of this single-family residence. To date, the applicant has not applied for or requested building permit(s) for alterations. No pei-i~its shall be Issued which will alter the residence structurally, as related to the large family day care home. 4. Provisions have been made to provide, at a minimum, one off-street parking space per employee of driving age not living in the home. The residential driveway approach is acceptable if the parking space will not conflict with any required child drop off/pick-up area and does not block the public sidewalk or right-of-way. (California Health & Safety Code, Section 1597.46, large family day care homes) The applicant's driveway is wide enough (eighteen feet) to accommodate two cars side by side. The applicant may have one employee and one of these driveway spaces will be provided for that employee to park and the other space will be dedicated for pick-up and drop-off purposes. State law requires at least one employee for a large family day care home, not Including the applicant. 5. Residences located on major arterial or collector streets must provide a drop- off/pick-up area designed to prevent vehicles from backing onto the major arterial or collector streets. The residential driveway may be used as the drop-off/pick- up area. (Califomia Health & Safety Code, Section 1597.46, large family day care homes) The applicant's residence is in a cul-de-sac and not on a major arterial or collector street aa defined by the City of Redwood City traffic engineer. As a result, this condition is not applicable. 6. The provider shall comply with all applicable regulations of the Fire Department regarding health and safety requirements. State Community Care Licensing will request a fire inspection. (California Health & Safety Code, section 1597.46, large family day care homes) A site Inspection was made by the City of Redwood City Fire Inspector on October 24, 2001. Clearance from the Redwood City Fire Department was obtained for this proposed large family day care home on November 27, 2001. 7. The facility will be operated in a manner which will not adversely affect adjoining residences and not be detrimental to the health, safety, and welfare of the neighborhood. Reasonable noise standards will be maintained during day care
