<br /> Mary Paskevich from Summer Jobs for Youth also asked Council to fund the Program at <br /> 46% of their request to reflect the 46% of the youth being assisted who are below the <br /> poverty line in the County. <br /> Carolyn Nobles representing TEWCI asked Council to give special consideration to this <br /> joint County program, and described the long and close relationship the City has had with <br /> TEWCI. <br /> Ira Ruskin, member of and representing the Housing and Human Concerns Committee, <br /> described the very careful process and some of the parameters the Committee used to <br /> allocate these scarce resources: those in greatest need and the policy directions from the <br /> Council. <br /> Katherine Mahany, member of and representing the Housing and Human Concerns <br /> Committee, described some of the programs and the rationale behind the Committee's <br /> decisions. <br /> Pat Nordby, member of and representing the Housing and Human Concerns Committee, <br /> read a letter from Ian Bain, member of the Committee who couldn't be at the budget <br /> session, which described some of the decisions and encouraged non-profits to engage in <br /> aggressive fund raising activities. <br /> Vice Mayor Hartnett and Diane Howard, Council representative to the HHCC, thanked <br /> the Committee for their hard work and commended them for their excellent commitment <br /> to allocating the City's funds to those in need in the City. <br /> CONSENSUS: It was determined by the Mayor that it was the consensus of the Council <br /> to include the Housing and Human Concerns Committee's recommendations as proposed, <br /> for the HSF A program in the 1995/95 FY Budget that will be voted upon by the Council at <br /> its regular meeting of August 14, 1995. <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO.
