At pre-described intervals, vehicles and
equipment undergo a thorough evaluation including but not limited to, age, mileage,
condition, maintenance history, downtime, anticipated future repairs, usage and vehicle
capabilities.
ANALYSIS
The Redwood City Police Department has six patrol vehicles that are scheduled to be
replaced in the current Fiscal Year (FY). After careful consideration and evaluation,
representatives from the Police Department and the Public Works Fleet Section have
agreed that Ford Police cars (Interceptor model) will meet the rigorous demands of the
Police Department.
On August 21, 2015 a Notice Inviting Sealed Bids was published in The Daily News with
a submission deadline of 3:30 p.m. on September 9, 2015. Copies of the bid notice
were emailed to three (3) local dealerships with additional copies available at the Public
Works office located at 1400 Broadway, Redwood City, CA 94063. The received bids
were opened by the City Clerk on September 9, 2015, and are summarized in the table
below.
