Council consensus was to include 100% affordable housing, study the possibility <br /> of mixed use and include a community services component, if possible, such as <br /> childcare; Council is the final decision maker but may utilize some ex-officio BCC <br /> members to participate in the review process and maybe have a study session on <br /> the matter. MINUTE ORDER 15-076 <br /> 10. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A. City Council Member Report of Conferences Attended <br /> Council Member Aguirre spoke about a program through C/CAG that will help teach <br /> business and home owners about zero energy development. The program's website is <br /> SMCEnergyWatch.com. <br /> Council Member Pierce stated that there was a tour at Hoover Elementary School to <br /> see their teaching model in action with K-3. She stated that the school has 97°/a parent <br /> participation. <br /> B. City Council Committee Reports <br /> Mayor Gee announced the following additional mayoral appointments: <br /> Council Member Bain will be serving on the Community Choice Aggregation <br /> Committee. Ramana Chinnakotla, Public Works Director, will be the alternate. <br /> For the Technical Advisor on the Calmod Policy Maker group, Council Member <br /> Seybert will serve. <br /> For the Grand Boulevard Initiative Council Member Howard will serve as the <br /> alternate. <br /> Mayor Gee thanked the Sigona Farmer's Market for contributing fresh fruit and produce <br /> to the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) program for girls. He <br /> spoke about young artists in the community and various recent art projects. He also <br /> mentioned that last Thursday was the annual Bike to Work Day and Bike Commuter of <br /> the Year was a Redwood City teacher from Redwood Shores Elementary School. He <br /> congratulated that teacher. <br /> Mayor Gee announced that Henry Ford Elementary School celebrated its 60tn <br /> anniversary and he attended the event. <br /> Last Saturday was Relay for Life at Sequoia High School and he attended the reopen of <br /> Jardin de los Ninos Park. <br /> C. City Manager (Oral) Update — Status on Downtown Projects <br /> Dr. Bell stated he would give the downtown update at the next meeting. He noted there <br /> is a dashboard on the City website about water conservation. <br /> D. City Attorney Report from Closed Session <br /> Ms. Thompson reported on two closed sessions items with no reportable items. <br /> 11.
