BOARDS, COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> A. Status Report on a Traffic Assessment District involving the cities of Redwood City, <br /> San Carlos and Belmont <br /> REPORT: Mayor Pro Tem Hartnett, September 13, 1995 <br /> Mayor Pro Tem Hartnett called upon those in the audience who had submitted speakers' <br /> cards. <br /> Dr. Nancy Jewell Cross, candidate for City Council, stated she was a transportation <br /> systems developer and advised that it was premature to talk about a traffic assessment <br /> district as there were many other ways to abate traffic problems. Dr. Cross advised that <br /> other means to achieve traffic goals had not been explored, such as a multimodal regional <br /> approach. Dr. Cross suggested the Council hold a public hearing to explore this issue and <br /> consider hiring a transportation developer. <br /> Mayor Pro Tem Hartnett gave a synopsis of the background and current status of a <br /> possible traffic assessment district involving Redwood City, San Carlos and Belmont, and <br /> advised that the study ordered by the Redwood City Council was near completion.
