Proclamation honoring the Kiwanis Key Club (Cherokey) at Sequoia High School; (207) <br /> Mayor Pro Tem Hartnett read the Proclamation honoring the Key Club of Sequoia <br /> High School whose motto is "Caring, Our Way of Life" and presented it to Geri Mayers, <br /> President of the Woodside Terrace AM. Kiwanis Club, sponsors of the Kiwanis Key <br /> Club at Sequoia High School. Mrs. Mayers introduced Dr. Glenn Lew, Kiwanis <br /> Advisory to the Key Club, who thanked everyone who helped to reestablish a Key Club at <br /> Sequoia High School: Geri Mayers, Barbara Lietke-Garcia, Phil Wang, incoming <br /> Kiwanis President-Elect Larry Gray, and President of the Sequoia Key Club (Cherokey) <br /> Randy Fish. Mr. Fish introduced other Key Club members who were in attendance: his <br /> sister Darlene Fish, Michaela Laveroni, Patrick Cooper, Andy Chow, Leslie Roth, Emily <br /> Marcoff, Chi-Young Choy, Julie Eglington, Ryan Hopkins, Jill Yeager, and Judd Busey. <br /> Mrs. Mayers reminded everyone that Councilman Sanfilipo had been a Key Club <br /> member in high school and it had served him well. <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 95-172 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />2. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> A Frank Bravo, 1349 Walnut, San Carlos, spoke on behalf of the Sequoia High School <br /> Alumni Association and described the hugely successful Centennial events held over the <br /> weekend, including the variety show on Friday night, football game where Sequoia High <br /> beat Burlingame High on Saturday, the dinner dance and Centennial Ball on Saturday <br /> night, and picnic and dedication of the Tea Garden on Sunday. Mr. Bravo reported that <br /> the celebrations had raised funds for three endowment funds: the Spirit of the Seal <br /> academic award, the Tea Garden and Carrington Hall. Mr. Bravo invited everyone to <br /> attend the second annual car show on October 1, and the dedication ceremony on October <br /> 19, 1995, when Sequoia High School will be placed on the National Register of Historic <br /> Places. (1000) <br /> B. Request to address the Council regarding Carrington Hall - Geri Mayers, President of <br /> Woodside Terrace AM. Kiwanis Club (115) <br /> Mrs. Mayers thanked the City for their support of the Kiwanis 4th of July Carnival that <br /> raised funds to assist the community in many ways, including pediatric supplies at Sequoia <br /> Hospital, the Sequoia High School Key Club and educational scholarships. Mrs. Mayers <br /> presented a $1,000 check for Carrington Hall restoration from the Woodside Terrace AM. <br /> Kiwanis Club to Frank Bravo, representing the Sequoia High School Alumni <br /> Association.
