CALL TO ORDER - 7:40 P.M., Mayor Gasparini presiding <br /> 2. ROLL CALL <br /> Council Members present: Buchan, Hartnett, Howard, La Berge, Sanfilipo, <br /> and Mayor Gasparini <br /> Council Members absent: Steinfeld <br /> Staff present: Everett, Schricker, Jorgenson and Nelson, Patterson, LaTorra, <br /> Luck, Church, Jones-Thomas <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> 3. PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> A. Jack Castle, 827 Mohican, Redwood City, thanked the Council for doing business with <br /> his local, competitive insurance company, and described the difficulty in getting <br /> reasonable earthquake insurance. <br /> B. Susan Keely, 766 Canyon Road, Redwood City presented gifts made by the children in <br /> her day care center to Councilwoman Howard, a little sequined megaphone, and to <br /> Councilwoman Buchan, a little pink, sequined crown. Mrs. Keely stated that cheerleaders <br /> were needed to bring everyone together rooting for the same positive goal; and royalty <br /> signified dignity and a class act. The Council and audience appreciated the humor of the <br /> presentation. <br /> C. Don Saye, 2021 Broadway, Redwood City, announced that the Redwood City Tribune had <br /> scheduled a round table discussion with Council candidates on October 19, 7-9 P.M. in the <br /> Redwood City Library Community Room. Mr. Saye announced Redwood City's sister <br /> city, Zhuhai China, would be bringing 26 artists and musicians to Redwood City during <br /> Zhuhai week, October 22-28, 1995, and invited everyone to attend the open house at the <br /> Redwood City Art Center at 2625 Broadway, 4:30 P.M., October 23, 199~, honoring the <br /> MINUTE BOOK NO. 53 <br /> Page No. 379 <br /> ..
