<br /> The following Hoover School children told the Council Members about "Make a <br /> Difference Day" and gave them pictures of the event mounted on colorful posters: Pablo <br /> Aguilera, Yesenia Aguilera, Eric Moreno, Ivan Moreno, and Christina Lopez. <br /> Councilwoman Howard, prime mover behind "Make a Difference Day" activities in <br /> Redwood City, advised that her friend, a painter who had helped on October 28, 1995, <br /> offered to go back to Hoover and finish any painting that had not been finished on the <br /> 28th. <br /> Roxanne Dragan announced that no graffiti had appeared on the school grounds since the <br /> neighborhood/community clean-up. <br /> B. Don Saye, Broadway merchant, advised that the Art Center Opening and Auction <br /> scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 17, would take place immediately following <br /> the Council reorganization scheduled for the same time. Mr. Saye invited everyone to <br /> attend the Council swearing-in and oath of office 7:00 p.m. at 401 Marshall, and then <br /> follow him to the Art Center at 2625 Broadway for a celebration and auction. <br /> C. Joe Steinfeld, Council candidate, 850 Main Street, asked the Council and audience to join <br /> in a silent prayer in memory of Yitzhak Rabin, who was assassinated on Saturday while <br /> trying to bring peace to Israel and the Middle East; and King Hussein of Jordan who paid <br /> tribute to Mr. Rabin by attending his funeral, thereby putting his own life in jeopardy from <br /> extremists dedicated to destroying the peace process. A moment of silence was observed. <br /> Mr. Steinfeld stated there were always more ideas that unify us than divide us, and <br /> expressed hope that differences could be reconciled and peace could be pursued <br /> throughout the world. <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> 3.
