Comments from Council Members. <br /> 1) Mayor Gasparini recognized many of the dignitaries and well-wishers in the <br /> audience including San Mateo County Supervisors Mary Griffin and her husband, <br /> Walt, Ruben Barrales, Tom Huening, Board President Ted Lempert and his wife, <br /> Nicole, former Redwood City Mayors Bill Rhodes, Bob Bury and his wife, June, and <br /> Jack Greenalch and his wife, Barbara. <br /> 2) Councilwoman La Berge, on behalf of her colleagues, thanked each of the outgoing <br /> Council Members for their dedication, courage and special contributions to the <br /> Council and the City of Redwood City over the past three years, wished them the very <br /> best in the future, stated how much they would be missed, and expressed the hope that <br /> the Council would see them often. The three outgoing Council Members were <br /> presented with leather brief cases from their colleagues and appointed staff. <br /> 3) San Mateo County Supervisors Barrales, Huening and Board President Lempert <br /> presented Commendations from the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors to <br /> Mayor Gasparini, Councilman Sanfilipo and Councilwoman Steinfeld. Supervisor <br /> Barrales stated it was an honor to serve the 4th District which includes Redwood City, <br /> it had been wonderful working with the Council Members who were leaving, and he <br /> looked forward to continuing cooperation with Redwood City. <br /> 4) Mayor Gasparini told Councilwoman Steinfeld that they had been elected together <br /> during a very exciting time, she appreciated the time they had spent together, learning <br /> and growing together, and sharing their dedication to Redwood City. Mayor <br /> Gasparini thanked Councilwoman Steinfeld for being part of the Mayor's team during <br /> this past year. Mayor Gasparini read a Proclamation thanking Councilwoman <br /> Steinfeld for her exceptional service to the people of Redwood City, and presented her <br /> with the Proclamation, an engraved desk clock and pen set and an engraved City <br /> plaque. <br /> Mayor Gasparini described the video that she and Councilman Sanfilipo made for <br /> the Redwood City Planning Division (available in the Main Library) playing a <br /> married couple planning to build a home and describing the permit process. Mayor <br /> Gasparini told Councilman Sanfilipo now that she was happily married and starting a <br /> new family, she was giving him sole custody of the keys to the house.
