"• REG:ek 10/5/66-7 <br />RES OLUTI ON NO 5/63 <br />RESOLUTION OF INTENTION CONCERNING THE IMPROVEMENT <br />OF BELMONT SLOUGH <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City, in accordance with its <br />general plan and the master plan of San Mateo County has proposed <br />the improvement of Belmont Slough; and <br />WHEREAS, the American Broadcasting Companies, Inc., has <br />determined to develop a Marine World Oceanarium facility adjacent <br />to Belmont Slough, which fact makes the immediate improvement of <br />such slough imperative; and <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the San Francisco Bay Conservation <br />and Development Commission has examined the proposed work in <br />conjunction with a pending application for the first phase of <br />dredging and has indicated its general approval of the first and <br />second phases of the dredging project subject to this City <br />expressing its intentions and understandings concerning the <br />improvement of Belmont Slough; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City fully recognizes the <br />responsibilities of the San Francisco Bay Conservation and <br />Development Commission and the necessity that there be full <br />cooperation between this city and the San Francisco Bay Con- <br />servation and Development Commission in developing the tidal <br />waterways; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That this Council hereby expresses its intention to <br />proceed with the first two phases of the development of Belmont <br />Slough (commonly identified as the "A" and "B" dredging) in <br />conjunction with the development of the Marine World Oceanarium <br />facility and not otherwise. <br />
