2. That it is the understanding of this Council that <br />Leslie Properties, Inc., will provide adjacent to and behind <br />the existing levees on the south shore of Belmont Slough, for <br />park, recreation and open space purposes, ten acres of land, <br />or land having a fair market value of $100,000, whichever is <br />greater in area; that such land will be donated for such public <br />purposes without cost; that such land will be so located as to <br />provide regional access to the Belmont waterway; and that the <br />land will be donated as development proceeds. <br />That it is the intention of this Council to cooperate with <br />the County of San Mateo and to match the amount of the con- <br />tribution for acquisition or development of the same or other <br />lands as proposed by the County, to a maximum of $50,000. <br />3. That it is the intention of this Council to develop <br />an extensive continuous public pedestrian and bicycle way system <br />as part of the General Improvement District No. 1-64 development, <br />most of which will be on the levees and used primarily for public <br />open space and recreation. <br />4. That it is the understanding of this Council that Leslie <br />Properties, Inc., will sell at fair market value to a public <br />agency all or portions of the land owned by Leslie between the <br />tidal waterways in State, or proposed State, ownership and the <br />existing levees on the south shore of Belmont Slough; and that <br />it is further understood that such offer by Leslie Properties, <br />Inc., shall not obligate this City to purchase any such land <br />nor shall it be construed to eliminate any obligation of Leslie <br />to dedicate lands in accordance with any present or future law <br />or ordinance of this State or City. <br />5. That it is the intention of this Council that this <br />City shall give the fullest cooperation to the San Francisco Bay <br />Conservation and Development Commission staff in the course of <br />2 - <br />
