other human services, in 2005, the HHCC decided to narrow the focus of HSFA on <br />“basic human needs” which resulted in the funding of basic needs assistance such as <br />crisis intervention, food assistance, and housing. The HHCC recommends that HSFA <br />funding continue to focus on the basic human needs criteria – reflecting both the recent <br />focus of the program as well as the City’s Strategic Plan Goal of “providing access to a <br />variety of supportive services to assist those in need.” <br /> <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />Council could choose a different funding amount for the HSFA program for either or <br />both Fiscal Year 2015-2016 and 2016-2017. Council could direct the HHCC to focus on <br />different criteria for the HSFA program. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The $1 million HSFA endowment has already been included in the approved Fiscal <br />Year 2015-2016 budget.
