PUBLIC HEARING - Vacation of right-of-way easements and reservation of <br />public service easement - Franklin Street between Jefferson Avenue and James <br />Avenue. Open Public Hearing. (702-06) <br />Affidavits of Posting and Publication of Notice of Public Hearing are on <br />file. <br />1. REPORT: City Engineer, October 28, 1993 <br /> City Engineer Luck presented the staff report and described the <br /> Planning commission approval of the Sequoia Station Planned Development <br /> Permit and the Tentative Subdivision Map; advised that each of the street <br /> and easement vacations are in conformance with the Redwood City General <br /> Plan; and described previous Council action leading to the proposed <br /> abandonments. Mr. Luck advised that the present and prospective public <br /> use of Franklin Street between Jefferson Avenue and James Avenue, make it <br /> unnecessary to retain it as a public street. <br />2. Mayor Buchan declared the Public Hearing open at 7:56 P.M. <br />3. Mayor Buchan invited Mr. Davies to speak to this issue. <br /> Albert Davies provided a history of the ownership and use of this <br /> property. In response to questions from City Attorney Schricker, Mr. <br /> Davies stated he had received advice from his counsel regarding this <br /> issue. Mr. Davies stated he was interested in having the sidewalk and <br /> curb returned to accommodate the rear side of his property and he wanted <br /> parallel parking established. <br /> Mayor Buchan asked if anyone else wished to speak to this issue. No one <br /> else came forward. <br />4. M/S: LA BERGE/GASPARINI TO CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING. <br /> CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE AND HEARING CLOSED AT 8:07 p.m. <br />5.
