Councilwoman Gasparini advised she attended her first League of California <br />Cities' Community Services Committee meeting on January 14th, and thanked <br />Redwood City Police Chief Guardino for his participation in the panel <br />discussion which highlighted the City's leadership in innovative police <br />services to the community. <br />Councilwoman Gasparini suggested to her colleagues that it was time to <br />revisit a Council workshop to review the priorities set last year and to <br />plan for the future. <br /> MEMO 1/18/94 <br />B. Councilman Sanfilipo reported that San Mateo County Sheriff Horsley and <br />Redwood City Police Chief Guardino have agreed to join him and Supervisor <br />Barrales on February 9, 1994 to continue their meetings addressing the <br />problems of Middlefield Road. <br />C. Councilman Greenalch reported on several CICAG issues: 1) CICAG formally <br />endorsed the plans for the County-wide Transportation Plan which will <br />include SamTrans, CalTrain, CalTrans and all the cities in the County; 2) <br />the C/CAG-endorsed Congestion Management Plan is being challenged in court <br />by San Francisco International Airport; and 3) in the past, the City of San <br />Bruno paid dues to CICAG but was the only City in San Mateo County not <br />actively participate in its efforts; last week on a vote of 3-2, San Bruno <br />agreed to officially participate in C/CAG. <br />D. Councilwoman La Berge described the very moving multicultural tribute to Dr. <br />Martin Luther King, Jr. held at Temple Beth Jacob on Sunday, and also <br />described the congregation's dedication of the service to the memory of <br />Pastor McCoy. <br />E. Councilwoman Steinfeld asked for a report on the Oddstad appeal, and was <br />advised by staff that this issue was scheduled for the Council meeting of <br />January 24th and a report would be forthcoming.
