NET SIX JOINT POWERS AUTHORITY- Will jointly establish, implement, oversee and <br /> maintain a consolidated fire emergency dispatch service for each member agency under a contract <br /> to be negotiated with and operated by San Mateo County (702-02) <br /> REPORT: Fire Chief, March 14, 1994 <br /> Fire Chief Fink presented the staff report, and in response to Council questions described the <br /> requirement of Government Code Section 6509 to list one entity, in this case Half Moon Bay, in <br /> Section 4 Powers, of the proposed Joint Powers Agreement. In response to Council questions, <br /> Chief Fink described the details of the start-up costs as outlined in the Report, and emphasized the <br /> advantages of consolidation: better service due to the ability to use multiple frequencies, use of <br /> advanced computer software to dispatch the closest fire engines, and cost savings. <br /> 1) MIS: STEINFELD/GREENALCH approve the expenditure of funds in the amount of <br /> $56,000 for start up costs.
