Recommendation: <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION 14583 APPROVING THE AMENDED JOB SPECIFICATION FOR <br />THE CLASSIFICATION OF PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKER 1 /11, PUBLIC <br />WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKER III, LEAD PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE <br />WORKER, TREE MAINTENANCE WORKER 1 /II, TREE MAINTENANCE LEADER, FIRE <br />PERVENTION OFFICER AND THE DELETION OF OBSOLETE CLASSIFICATIONS OF <br />LEAD CONSTRUCTION SPECIALIST, BUILDING INSPECTOR 1 /II, PLAN CHECKER 1 /II <br />AND POLICE PROPERTY CLERK <br />6.3 Section — Claims and Warrants <br />A. Approve warrants dated through June 14, 2004 and usual and necessary <br />payments through June 21, 2004; (301) MINUTE ORDER 04 -112 <br />7. STAFF REPORTS <br />A. Enabling Legislation to allow for creation of a Countywide Park District (Continued <br />from June 7, 2004 Council Meeting) <br />Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Director Centeno requested Council <br />consideration of a letter of a support to be sent to Senator Byron Sher asking him <br />to support the enabling legislation. She further stated that the Parks and <br />Recreation Commission considered this topic and unanimously supported the <br />enabling legislation. She further stated that Vice Mayor has participated in original <br />meetings held by Supervisor Hill. <br />San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Foundation Executive Director Julia Bott <br />Stated that the County established the Foundation in seeking funding <br />augmentation for the County parks. She further explained the special parks <br />district concept and its potential benefits. She stated that the enabling legislation <br />would allow the special district to go before the voters of the County for approval. <br />She further stated the hope that the Council would identify both a staff person and <br />an elected official to serve on the development of the ballot measure language <br />and work with the committee to address needs the city has and get solutions into <br />the proposed district. <br />Council Members asked various questions pertaining to cost and clarification of <br />the park district model. <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL <br />MEETING MINUTES <br />JUNE 14, 2004 <br />PAGE 3 <br />MINUTES Book No. 60 <br />Page No. 235 <br />
