<br />Public Comment: <br />Marian Vanden Bosch, resident and volunteer in the County parks for 20 years, <br />has been behind this project for 10 years and stated her belief that it is the right <br />direction and will benefit the greatest number of people. She encouraged support <br />from Council. <br />Bill Korbholz, Redwood City resident, has been involved in parks for many years <br />and is Chair of the SMC Parks and Recreation Foundation. He emphasized the <br />points by Ms. Bott and encouraged strong support for the enabling legislation. <br />Kathy Korbholz, President of the Friends of Edgewood, stated that the Friends <br />volunteered over 6,000 hours towards Edgewood Park in 2003 and one of the <br />activities are docent led walks. She explained various activities that are in <br />jeopardy at this time. She urged the passage of the enabling legislation. <br />Recommendation: <br />M/S Ruskin/Pierce to communicate Council support of enabling legislation to <br />create a Countywide Park District to Senator Byron Sher. The motion passed by <br />a unanimous voice vote. MINUTE ORDER 04-113 <br />B. Redwood City Recycled Water Project- Production and Delivery of Recycled <br />Water (802) <br />Public Works Services Director Ingram explained with a PowerPoint presentation <br />the principles of the proposed agreement between the South Bayside System <br />Authority (SBSA) and the City of Redwood City and the implementation of the <br />Recycled Water Project. <br />Public Comment: <br />Marge Parkhurst expressed her appreciation that PWS Director Ingram is <br />sensitive to the concerns of the community. She stated that people are not <br />opposed to the use of recycled water but they want to know that it is safe and <br />testing the water will tell us how safe it is. She asked that the Council assume its <br />role as leaders in the community whose primary job is to ensure their constituents' <br />health and safety.
