<br /> At 11:11 P.M., MIS: BUCHAN/STEINFELD TO EXTEND THE MEETING TO NO <br /> LATER THAN 11:25 P.M. <br /> CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE. MINUTE ORDER NO. 95-134 <br /> In answer to Council questions Fair Oaks Superintendent Gonazlez described the <br /> status of the Fair Oaks Community Center and Library, proposed revenues and <br /> marketing the site. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> Joe Steinfeld, 850 Main Street, expressed his views on what he considered <br /> unnecessary expenditures and too many employees. Mr. Steinfeld made some specific <br /> recommendations on how to reduce costs such as combining the Parks, Recreation and <br /> Community Services Department and the Library under one Director. Mr. Steinfeld <br /> stated that Public Works Services Department did not need so many supervisors. <br /> 5. ADJOURNMENT <br /> Vice Mayor Hartnett advised that former Councilman Britschgi was incorrect in terms of his <br /> view of how the Utility Users Fees funds have been spent. Vice Mayor Hartnett stated that the <br /> Fees had been spent on major capital projects which include the City Hall, and that is the <br /> purpose for which the fees were adopted, including major street work as well. Vice Mayor <br /> Hartnett stated that the successor Councils have been faithful to the intent that was exhibited at <br /> the time of the adoption of those fees. Even though the intent was not reflected well in the <br /> Minutes of 1983 as Mr. Britschgi pointed out. Vice Mayor Hartnett said that it was important <br /> for the people to know that every Council has kept full faith with that intent and has been good <br /> a good steward of the funds for the public benefit. <br /> Mayor Gasparini thanked the staff for their good work and long hours.
