<br /> 3. SPECIAL ORDERS OF THE DAY <br /> A. Dr. Winston Acevedo, President of the Redwood City Kiwanis Club announced that the Farmers <br /> Market will open on April 30, 1994 and will be open every Saturday through November 19, 1994, <br /> from 7:00 A.M. until noon. The Farmers Market is located at Winslow and Middlefield. The <br /> Redwood City Kiwanis will be celebrating their 70th anniversary on April 29 at the Sequoia Club, <br /> and invited the Council. <br /> B. Fire Chief Fink thanked the Council for approving the use of Fire Station #9 for the Special <br /> Olympics Power Lifting Team, Chief Fink introduced Fire Prevention Officer Dave Anderson, <br /> Coordinator and Assistant Coach for Special Olympics. <br /> Dave Anderson introduced Special Olympics Area Director, Jim Dugan. Mr. Dugan provided <br /> some historical information about the Special Olympic program and introduced Larry McDonald, <br /> Head Power Lifting Coach who in turn introduced the team. Richard Dunning a member of the <br /> team thanked Council for their support. Slides of the Special Olympics program were shown. <br /> 4. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS <br /> None. <br /> 5. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> None. <br /> 6. BOARDS, COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> None. <br /> 7. STAFF REPORTS <br /> Councilman Greenalch requested that Item 7B be taken out of order at this time. <br /> B. Countywide Economic Development Plan (702-02) <br /> REPORT: City Manager, Everett, April 6, 1994 <br /> City Manager, Everett spoke about the advantages of the collaborative approach to the <br /> Countywide Economic Development Plan.
