<br /> Family House was "our" shelter and it is important to the City to get families offthe streets. <br /> Councilman Claire stated that he would agree with the $5,000 for La Raza, but wanted to <br /> wait until budget time, and at that time wanted to know a lot more about that organization. <br /> La Raza had not submitted any documentation showing they served 300 people in Redwood <br /> City. Councilman Claire stated he had heard good things about La Raza in the community, <br /> but he wanted to wait until budget time, with more information, to make a final decision as <br /> to the amount of funding that would be appropriate. The subject motion gets the ball <br /> rolling and puts it in staffs hands, and gives Council a chance to reevaluate both <br /> organizations.
