<br /> F. Joe Staudt, Broadway merchant, expressed concerns regarding police response time. He <br /> had called 911 to report that someone was in his store who was drunk and might cause <br /> trouble; however, after 15 minutes the police had not arrived and he called again. He was <br /> informed that there was a life threatening situation occurring elsewhere. Mr. Staudt stated <br /> that the City needed more police protection. After 30 minutes, the police and sheriffs <br /> deputies arrived. Mr. Staudt was upset regarding the half hour response time. <br /> Mayor Buchan requested a full report from the City Manager. <br /> MEMO 7/19/94 <br /> Captain Switzer advised Council that there had been a shooting on the other side of town. <br /> The person was in a house, and the police department had to cordon off the streets. This <br /> situation lasted four hours.
