At its December 15, 2015 meeting, the Complete Streets Advisory Committee endorsed <br />staff’s recommendation to submit two grant applications for the Measure A Pedestrian <br />and Bicycle Program; one for the Kennedy Middle School Safe Routes to School Project <br />($500,000) and one for the Highway 101 Bike-Ped Undercrossing ($500,000), for a total <br />grant amount of $1,000,000. <br /> <br />In order to receive the Measure A funding, the City must adopt a resolution of local <br />support by January 25, 2016 (per extension from TA). <br /> <br />The current funding schedule has a draft funding recommendation going to the TA <br />Board around March 2016. <br /> <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />Council may: <br />· Choose to not adopt a resolution of support for any or all of the projects and <br />direct staff to identify alternative funding sources. <br />· Choose to not adopt a resolution of support for any or all of the projects and <br />direct staff to not pursue them. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The local match for any awarded grant projects will be covered by a combination of <br />funding sources, which could include the Traffic Mitigation Fee Fund, the Gas Tax <br />Construction Fund, Capital Outlay Fund and developer contributions. Once the grant <br />award amounts are determined, the specific amounts and funding sources will be <br />identified in the budget amendment. <br /> <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />The actions associated with applying for and accepting funding do not constitute a <br />project pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act guidelines.
