<br /> <br />13 | Page <br /> <br />Percent of Vehicles Traveling above the Posted Speed Limit <br />As shown in Table 12, Farm Hill Boulevard between Eden Bower and Lonesome Pine had over <br />88 percent of vehicles traveling over the speed limit in the westbound direction and 96 percent <br />in the eastbound direction prior to the start of the pilot. During the pilot, the percentage of <br />cars traveling over the speed limit in this section went down by 13 percent in the westbound <br />direction (uphill) and by 6 percent in the eastbound direction (downhill). <br />Farm Hill, between McGarvey to Jefferson saw the largest reductions in the share of vehicles <br />exceeding the speed limit. Going towards I-280, the percent of vehicles exceeding the speed <br />limit went down by 68 percent, from 49 percent to 16 percent. There was a similar result going <br />towards downtown, the percent of vehicles exceeding the speed limit went down by 62 <br />percent, from 32 percent to 12 percent. <br />On Jefferson, between Highland to Alameda de las Pulgas, large percentages of vehicles <br />traveled above the speed limit before the start of the pilot – 72 percent towards I-280 and 68 <br />percent towards downtown.
