32 <br /> <br />The names of the successful qualified candidates shall be recorded on an <br />eligible list. Eligible lists shall continue in effect one (1) year after <br />establishment. The name of any person on an eligible list may be removed by <br />the Personnel Office if the eligible person requests in writing that his or her <br />name be removed, or if he or she fails to respond to a written offer of <br />employment within five (5) business days next succeeding the mailing of <br />notice. <br /> <br /> <br />If a candidate waives an offer of employment the candidate shall be removed <br />from the eligible list. <br /> <br /> <br />SECTION 13. RESIGNATION <br /> <br />An employee wishing to leave the service of the City in good standing shall file with <br />the Police Chief at least two (2) weeks notice of an intention to leave the service <br />unless the Police Chief consents to the employee's leaving sooner. The written <br />resignation shall state the effective date and reasons for leaving. The resignation <br />shall be forwarded to the Personnel Officer, with a statement by the Police Chief as to <br />the resigned employee's service performance and other pertinent information <br />concerning the cause for resignation. <br /> <br /> <br />SECTION 14. RETIREMENT <br /> <br />14.1 Retirement Plan <br /> <br />Retirement benefits for employees shall be those established by the Public <br />Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) for Local Safety Members Two Percent <br />(2%) at Age Fifty (50) Formula. <br /> <br />Effective the first full pay period that includes July 1, 2004. retirement <br />benefits for employees hired before the date of the City’sprior to October 24, <br />2011 (Tier 1). amendment of its contract with CalPERS shall be those <br />established by CalPERS for Local Safety Members Three Percent (3%) at Age <br />Fifty (50) Formula. <br /> <br />Retirement benefits for employees hired on or after the date of the City’s 2011 <br />amendment of its contract with CalPERSOctober 24, 2011 (Tier 2), willshall be <br />those established by CalPERS for Local Safety Members, Three Percent (3%) at <br />Age Fifty-Five (55) Formula. <br /> <br />Retirement benefits for employees hired on or after January 1, 2013, and <br />defined as a “new member” pursuant to California Government Code Section <br />7522.04(f) (Tier 3) shall be those established by CalPERS for Local Safety <br />Members, Two point Seven Percent (2.7%) at Age Fifty-Seven (57) Formula. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />6.1.C. - Page 43
