Page 1 of 2 <br />ATTY/RESO.0012/CC RESO RED MORTON PARK SYNTHETIC TURF AND TENNIS COURT RENOVATION PROJECT <br />REV: 01-28-16 VR <br />RESOLUTION NO. __ _ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY 1) AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INCREASE THE <br />CONTRACT AMOUNT FOR THE RED MORTON PARK SYNTHETIC <br />TURF AND TENNIS COURT RENOVATION PROJECT, IF NECESSARY, <br />UP TO 30% OF THE AMOUNT AWARDED, AND 2) APPROVING AN <br />APPROPRIATION AMENDMENT TO FISCAL YEAR 2015-2016 PARKS <br />IMPACT FEES FUND TO INCREASE REVENUES BY $1,911,795 AND <br />TO INCREASE EXPENDITURES BY $1,332,510 <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on September 21, 2015 the City Council awarded the contract for the <br />Red Morton Synthetic Turf and Tennis Court Renovation Project to O.C. Jones & Sons, <br />Inc. for their low bid of $4,411,700, and authorized the City Manager to increase the <br />contract amount, if necessary, up to 10% of the amount awarded; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, during construction, additional unforeseen excavation, subgrade <br />preparation, and soil off-haul was discovered to be necessary to complete the project, <br />and project costs are anticipated to exceed the awarded contract amount by up to 30%; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, revenue to the Parks Impact Fees Fund has exceeded the Fiscal Year <br />2015-2016 revenue budget by $1,911,795 as of December 30, 2015; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to authorize the City Manager to increase the <br />contract amount, if necessary, up to 30% of the amount awarded to perform additional <br />unforeseen excavation, subgrade preparation and soil off-haul, and to amend the revenue <br />and expenditure budgets of the Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Parks Impact Fees Fund to <br />accommodate completion of the project. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />6.3.A. - Page 5
