9 <br /> <br />bb. Must be capable of customizable channel voice annunciations to give an audible <br />announcement of channel and zone changes as well as button presses to actuate other <br />functions (ex. “scan on” or “scan off”). Voice annunciations can be recorded in .wav <br />file format and programmed into the radio. <br />cc. Dual microphone background noise abatement or cancellation system optimized to <br />reject audio signals identified by the Redwood City Fire Department such as, but not <br />limited to, Personal Alert Safety System (PASS) alarms, chain saws, engine noise, <br />etc. Proposer must explain operation of this feature in P25 trunked and conventional <br />modes. <br />dd. Noise reduction must reduce background noise picked up by the radio microphones <br />in analog and digital modes of operation <br />ee. Front panel programming capability without the use of a dongle key <br />ff. Must be capable of creating a blank zone via the programming software and then <br />allow the user to add channels to the zone through the radio’s keypad. <br />gg. GPS hardware with firmware upgradable in the future <br />hh. Bluetooth hardware with firmware upgradable in the future <br />ii. Must support intelligent battery chargers <br /> <br />C. Standard full feature VHF (136-174 MHz) band portable radio model for administrative <br />personnel: Proposer must provide pricing for a standard portable radio model in addition to <br />the required ruggedized model offering. These radios may include additional features or <br />alternate configurations to the ruggedized model radio. Pricing must be provided for a <br />standard model portable radio including software, licenses, antenna, belt clip/holder and <br />battery as well as the following features: <br />a. Limited function keypad with top and front display <br />b. Programmable extreme noise reduction features as on the ruggedized radio specified <br />c. Capable of IP67 immersion to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes <br />d. Must be able to use the same accessories and programming software as the radio <br />defined in section B <br /> <br />D. Battery: <br />a. Proposer must provide batteries without cadmium. Pricing must be provided for <br />Lithium-ion only. <br />b. The battery shall feature two latches to keep the battery positively attached to the <br />radio with redundant battery contacts to ensure the radio remains constantly powered <br />on during drops. <br />c. Proposer may propose batteries certified as intrinsically safe. <br />d. Proposer must propose an "AA" battery clamshell for use in operations where <br />standard AC powered chargers are unavailable. <br />e. The battery must provide a minimum operational us of 16 hours based on a 5-5-90 <br />duty cycle <br />f. Battery must have a minimum capacity of 2900 mAh <br />g. The battery shall be an intelligent battery for fuel gauge accuracy and automatic <br />reconditioning. <br />h. The battery must have internal circuitry to record the charging, discharging and <br />reconditioning history of the battery and be able to communicate with a smart <br />charger so that the smart charger can appropriately recondition batteries as needed to <br />maximize battery life. <br />6.1.B. - Page 23
