9 <br /> <br />7.6 Officer-In-Charge Pay <br /> <br />When a Police Officer is assigned by the Police Chief or his/her designee to act <br />as the Officer-In-Charge for a period of two (2) hours or more, such Police <br />Officer shall be paid an additional five percent (5%) of his/her regular hourly <br />rate of pay for all hours so assigned. <br /> <br />7.7 Court Pay <br /> <br />Except for employees whose work shift ends at 8:00 A.M., aAn off-duty <br />employee who is subpoenaed mandated to appear in court in cases in which the <br />City is a party shall be compensated at one and one-half (1-1/2) times the <br />employee's regular straight-time rate for all hours the employee is so ordered <br />by the City to appear with a minimum of four (4) hours. Employees appearing <br />in court during times adjacent to their regularly scheduled shifts shall be <br />compensated as follows: <br /> <br />A. Any employee whose work shift ends at 87:00 A.Ma.m., who is <br />subpoenaed to appear in court at 9:30 A.Ma.m. or earlier in cases in <br />which the City is a party shall remain on duty and perform regularly <br />scheduled assignments until commencement of the court appearance. <br />The employee shall be compensated at one and one-half (1-1/2) times <br />the employee's regular straight-time rate of pay for hours worked in <br />excess of his/her regularly scheduled hours and for hours he/she is <br />required to spend attending court proceedings, with a minimum of four <br />(4) hours. <br /> <br />B. An employee who works C-Watch (or a shift that begins at 2:00 <br />p.m.), and is mandated to appear in court at 1:00 p.m. on their <br />normal scheduled work day, will be compensated only for court <br />hours and authorized court preparation time prior to the beginning <br />of their 2:00 p.m. start time. Such employees shall not be subject to <br />the four (4) hour minimum. <br /> <br />7.8 Longevity Pay <br /> <br />Employees with ten or more years of service with the City of Redwood City who <br />maintain a current satisfactory performance evaluation and possess a valid <br />advanced certificate awarded by the California Commission on Peace Officer <br />Standards and Training along with sixty (60) college semester credits of which <br />twenty-four (24) must be in the Administration of Justice or in the alternative, <br />an employee who possesses an A.A. or higher degree from an accredited <br />institution of higher learning, shall be eligible to receive an additional 7-1/2% <br />of pay. <br /> <br />Section 7.8 shall be interpreted to include prior service as a Redwood City <br />Police Officer in meeting the ten (10) year service criterion for longevity pay. <br />An officer must also meet the other criteria for longevity pay per Section 7.8 of <br />the current MOU. <br /> <br />6.1.C. - Page 18
