Funds for the 2015-2016 Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project were previously
approved and appropriated in Fiscal Year 2015-16 budget as Sewer Fund Capital
Projects – Collection System Replacement Program. There is an available balance of
$5,980,456.70 as of February 5, 2016.

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
As the lead agency, City of Redwood City determined that the 2015-2016 Sanitary
Sewer Replacement Project meets the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)
exemption criteria as set forth in CEQA Guidelines Section 15302, (“Replacement or
Reconstruction”) of the CEQA regulations. Furthermore, this project was designed
compliant with the City’s Engineering Standards and accepted practices.
This project does not require a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System
(NPDES) General Permit for stormwater discharges associated with construction and
land disturbance activities pursuant to Attachment A.2 of Order No. R2-2015-0049,
NPDES Permit No. CAS612008, which exempts projects to update existing lines and
facilities. However, the proposed construction will employ stormwater pollution
prevention best methods and practices.

JEFFREY CHOU
ASSISTANT ENGINEER II

AARON AKNIN
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

MELISSA STEVENSON DIAZ
CITY MANAGER

ATTACHMENTS
Project Location Map

RELATED DOCUMENTS IN CITY CLERK’S OFFICE
Drawings and Contract Documents
6.1.A. - Page 3
