MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A League of California Cities Annual Conference in Long Beach - Report by <br /> Councilwoman Gasparini (704-03) <br /> Councilwoman Gasparini, League Policy Committee representative, thanked the <br /> Council for the opportunity to attend the annual conference and represent the City of <br /> Redwood at the League and on the Policy Committee. Councilwoman Gasparini reported <br /> on two main areas of concern - youth services and the recently enacted Crime Bill. <br /> Councilwoman Gasparini asked Council to reconsider establishing a Youth Commission <br /> for teens in high school with Council and staff liaisons and a scope of work, which would <br /> consider youth related matters such as curfews. Secondly, Councilwoman Gasparini <br /> reported on the requirements and opportunities offered by the Crime Bill and described <br /> her plans to meet with the City Manager to map out strategies to qualify for these grants. <br /> MEMO 11/8/94 <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ <br /> B. Redwood City Pride and Beautification Committee - Report by Councilwoman <br /> Gasparini (301-06) <br /> Councilwoman Gasparini announced the date of the Fall Clean-up, November 20, <br /> 1994, dubbed "Aqua Terra" which will take place near Seaport Center, and invited <br /> everyone to take part.
