2. CONSENT CALENDAR
MIS: GREENALCHISTEINFELD TO WAIVE READING OF THE CONSENT
CALENDAR AND APPROVE OTHER ITEMS:
Councilman Sanfilipo referred to the Minutes of the November 7, 1994 Council Meeting,
Item 6 C, and stated that there seemed to be a question on some of the statements made by Mr.
John Ciboci of SRI, International and stated "I would just like to get that clarified."
City Attorney Schricker advised that he had discussed the matter with Councilman Sanfilipo
and stated it related to "representations made by Mr. Ciboci at the Council Meeting which I
think are appropriate to include in the Minutes because they bear upon what SRI agrees to
provide with respect to the gun locater program license. One, the licensing fee would not be
payable by the City of Redwood City on the original as well as the expanded version." City
Attorney Schricker added that there was also "a question regarding upgrades, and on that I will
have to defer to Councilman Sanfilipo for clarification on that point."
Councilman Sanfilipo stated "my understanding is that the gentleman stated that even
upgrades of the City of Redwood City would be given to the City of Redwood City at no
charge. And sometimes software upgrades can be very costly, and my recollection was that he
made that statement and at the time Mr. Schricker said keep asking questions like that so we
could probably end up with actually no cost whatsoever even with the upgrades."
City Attorney Schricker stated that the" recording indicates something to the effect that he
did agree to system upgrade" and asked the City Clerk to read the verbatim quote from the tape
recording.
The City Clerk read the quotation. Mr. Ciboci: "We will provide the system free of any
licensing fee. Plus as the system is upgraded over time we want to roll those upgrades back
into Redwood City so you will have the benefit and the best operating system possible."
City Attorney Schricker suggested "that perhaps just a verbatim quote in the Minutes would
be appropriate", and added that the contract was in negotiation.
Mayor Buchan asked the originator of the motion and the seconder if that addition would be
included in their motion, and they both answered affirmatively.
MOTION TO APPROVE THE CONSENT CALENDAR WITH THE VERBATIM
QUOTE ADDED TO THE NOVEMBER 7, 1994, COUNCIL MINUTES WAS
CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS ROLL CALL VOTE.
A.
