SPECIAL ORDERS OF THE DAY <br /> A. Nomination and Election of Vice Mayor. <br /> Mayor Gasparini called for nominations for the Office of Vice Mayor and conducted the <br /> election. <br /> Councilwoman Howard nominated Councilman Hartnett to the Office of Vice Mayor. <br /> Mayor Gasparini asked if there were any other nominations. There were none. <br /> MIS: LA BERGEIHOW ARD TO CLOSE THE NOMINA nONS <br /> CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE. <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 94-248 <br /> MIS: BUCHAN/SANFILIPO TO ELECT COUNCILMAN HARTNETT TO THE OFFICE <br /> OF VICE MAYOR BY UNANIMOUS VOTE. <br /> MOTION CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE. <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 94-249 <br /> ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> 8. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A. Council Members comments. <br /> Councilwoman Howard thanked Vice Mayor Claire and Councilman Greenalch for being <br /> such positive role models, for their commitment to Redwood City and for always taking <br /> the high road. Councilwoman Howard thanked all those involved in her campaign and <br /> their optimistic spirit, and added that her goal was to spread that positive and constructive <br /> spirit throughout the City. Councilwoman Howard said the challenge was to continue <br /> improving the quality of life in the City in the face of decreasing federal and state <br /> economic assistance.
