CALL TO ORDER - 8:35 P.M., Mayor Gasparini presiding Council Members present: Buchan, Hartnett, Howard, La Berge, Sanfilipo, Steinfeld and Mayor Gasparini Council Members absent: None. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7. SPECIAL ORDERS OF THE DAY A. Nomination and Election of Vice Mayor. Mayor Gasparini called for nominations for the Office of Vice Mayor and conducted the election. Councilwoman Howard nominated Councilman Hartnett to the Office of Vice Mayor. Mayor Gasparini asked if there were any other nominations. There were none. MIS: LA BERGEIHOW ARD TO CLOSE THE NOMINA nONS CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE. MINUTE ORDER NO. 94-248 MIS: BUCHAN/SANFILIPO TO ELECT COUNCILMAN HARTNETT TO THE OFFICE OF VICE MAYOR BY UNANIMOUS VOTE. MOTION CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE. Council Members comments. Councilwoman Howard thanked Vice Mayor Claire and Councilman Greenalch for being such positive role models, for their commitment to Redwood City and for always taking the high road. Councilwoman Howard thanked all those involved in her campaign and their optimistic spirit, and added that her goal was to spread that positive and constructive spirit throughout the City. Councilwoman Howard said the challenge was to continue improving the quality of life in the City in the face of decreasing federal and state economic assistance. Councilwoman Howard stated she was looking forward to working with everyone to help Redwood City meet its fullest potential, and thanked everyone for their confidence in her.
