ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />A. A request from Steve Penna, President, of the Redwood City Theatrical and <br />Entertainment Troupe, for Council endorsement of the concept of the <br />Troupe and consideration of funding for its activities (1307-02) <br />Steve Penna, Redwood City resident and businessman, asked Council for <br />their support in bringing local, live theatre, youth programs and a <br />speakers series to Redwood City, and described his vision, partly based <br />on his participation in the old Redwood City Players troupe, with 100% <br />community involvement from Redwood City residents, business people and <br />neighbors. Mr. Penna referred to the information he gave the Council <br />Friday, and asked for start-up funding for one year in the amount of <br />$26,000 from the Bond Issue monies set aside for downtown promotion.
