<br />Fire Chief O'Brien introduced the three fire fighters to be honored and <br />provided background on their exemplary years of service and courageous <br />actions on January 10, 1992. <br />Mayor La Berge read the proclamations and she and Vice Mayor Bury presented <br />the proclamations to three of Redwood City's outstanding fire fighters who <br />were greeted with much applause: <br />Fire Fighters Gary Belanger, Jim Bigot and John Hosford thanked the Council <br />for this special recognition. <br />Titles read. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 11706 HONORING REDWOOD CITY FIRE FIGHTER GARY BELANGER FOR <br />HIS HEROIC EFFORTS IN RESCUING EIGHT PEOPLE FROM A BURNING BUILDING ON <br />JANUARY 10, 1992 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 11707 HONORING REDWOOD CITY FIRE FIGHTER JIM BIGOT FOR <br />HIS HEROIC EFFORTS IN RESCUING EIGHT PEOPLE FROM A BURNING BUILDING ON <br />JANUARY 10, 1992 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 11708 HONORING REDWOOD CITY FIRE FIGHTER JOHN HOSFORD FOR <br />HIS HEROIC EFFORTS IN RESCUING EIGHT PEOPLE FROM A BURNING BUILDING ON <br />JANUARY 10, 1992 <br />Approved by acclamation. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />B. City Manager Everett asked Redevelopment Agency Director Church to lead <br />a special presentation to the Council Members in their roles as <br />Redevelopment Agency Directors. Director Church advised that after seven <br />years of planning and negotiations for the Sequoia Station development, <br />David Zylstra of Safeway Stores, Inc. and David Irmer of Sequoia Station <br />Developers were here tonight to present an unconditional Letter of Credit <br />for $4.2 million dollars to begin the project. The LOC was received by the <br />entire Council who thanked Mr. Zylstra, Mr. Irmer and Director Church for <br />their hard work. Director Church gave special recognition to Attorney Jim <br />Hildebrand, City staff and the Council for their tenacity and vision. Mayor <br />La Berge recognized the contributions of former City Manager Jim Smith who <br />was in the audience to witness this momentous occasion.
