Motion carries <br />unanimously by electronic vote with Council Member Aguirre absent. <br /> <br />9. STAFF REPORT(S) – None <br /> <br />10. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> <br /> A. City Council Member Report of Conferences Attended <br /> <br />Council Member Bain attended the Emergency Service Council meeting last week, and <br />there was discussion on the cost of servicing the San Francisco Airport, and getting a <br />reimbursement for emergency services that Redwood City provides them. There were <br />other updates about drought conditions around the County. <br /> <br />Mayor Gee attended the California League of Cities Public Policy Committee on June <br />11, 2015. There was an update on a number of policy items including Meagan’s Law <br />and Jessica’s Law. The State anticipates there will be a ballot measure in the next year <br />for legalizing marijuana use. He stated that it’s wise to have the rules in place before <br />voters vote on it rather than after. He spoke about local control and dual permitting. On <br />June 12, 2015 he attended a workshop for Sustainable Silicon Valley. He stated that <br />on-site reclamation of water will be the next major water conservation movement. He <br />congratulated the graduates of the Boys and Girls Club of the peninsula. He <br />congratulated Susie Reilly with the Native Daughters of the Golden West and their 129th <br />annual convention in Burlingame. Emily McNeil, Miss Redwood City San Mateo <br />County, is in Fresno for Miss California. He stated he was at the new Art Center <br />recently. This Saturday, Pets in Need are celebrating their 70th anniversary. Redwood <br />City will have a pancake breakfast, fun run, and parade for the 4th of July. He stated he <br />is a member of a delegation of Mayors visiting China to look at building relationships <br />with government officials and business opportunities. <br /> <br /> B. City Council Committee Reports <br /> <br /> 1. Assignment of Voting Delegate and Alternate - League of California <br />Cities Annual Conference <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Assignment of Voting Delegate and Alternate for the League of California <br />Cities Annual Conference. <br /> <br />M/S Foust/Howard for Mayor Gee to be the representative at the <br />conference. Motion passes unanimously with Council Member Aguirre <br />absent. <br />M/S Gee/Seybert for Council Member Aguirre to be the alternate. Motion <br />passes unanimously with Council Member Aguirre absent. <br /> MINUTE ORDER 15-106 <br /> C.
