Following the <br />hearing, the City Council may adopt a resolution that adopts the proposed rates. If, prior to the close of the public input <br />portion of the public hearing, written protests are presented by a majority of customers of record or owners of a majority of <br />parcels that receive solid waste services, the City Council will not increase the rates from their existing level. <br /> <br />If you would like additional information on the proposed rates, please visit City Hall, call 650-780-7210, or visit the City’s <br />website at www.redwoodcity.org/finance/utility/utilityrates.html. Any person interested, including all solid waste and <br />recycling collection customers of the City of Redwood City may appear at the public hearing and be heard on any matter <br />related to the proposed increase in rates. <br /> <br />If you wish to file a written protest, please send a letter in a sealed envelope addressed to Solid Waste Rates, City Clerk, <br />City of Redwood City, 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA 94063. Your written protest must include: (i) A <br />statement that it is a protest against the proposed change which is the subject of the hearing. (ii) Name of the record <br />owner or customer of record; (iii) Identity of the affected parcel by assessor’s parcel number or service address; (iv) <br />Original signature of the record owner or custom er of record with respect to the identified parcel. Protests will not be <br />counted if any of the required elements (i through iv) are omitted. The City Clerk must receive your protest at City Hall <br />by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016.
