<br /> M/S: Stangel/Bury to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Carried by unanimous voice vote and Hearing closed at 9:29 p.m. <br /> MIS: MURRAY/BURY TO DENY THE ,APPEAL <br /> CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS ROLL CALL VOTE. <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 92-123 <br /> City Attorney Schricker advised that Findings would be submitted for Council <br /> approval at a future Council Meeting. <br /> ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> 6. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A. Councilman Stangel advised that members of the Apartment Industry Foundation <br /> of Santa Clara spent last weekend painting and landscaping the Redwood <br /> Family House at 110 Locust; and that he, Mayor La Berge and Councilman <br /> Murray joined in the efforts to rehabilitate this very important residence. <br /> Councilman Stangel advised that BFI removed the filled debris box free of <br /> charge, and now the house and yard are cleaner and safer for all the <br /> residents. <br /> Mayor La Berge suggested that the Council write a letter to the AIF and <br /> thank them for their service to Redwood City and the Council agreed. <br /> MEMO 8/4/92 <br /> B. Councilwoman Buchan reported on the League of California Cities Conference <br /> held this past weekend in Monterey that she and Councilman Claire attended, <br /> and described the important discussions on the current state budget crisis <br /> and the role of cities now and in the future. Councilwoman Buchan advised <br /> that her Council colleagues throughout the state were uniformly frustrated <br /> and angry at the state budget crisis and were developing plans to protect <br /> city revenues and increase home rule. (704-03) <br /> C. Councilman Murray thanked Council Members Bury and Buchan, Park, <br /> Recreation and Community Services Director Griffiths and Parks and <br /> Recreation Commissioner Howard for their help in working with the Manors <br /> Homeowners Association and the plans for Shannon Park. <br /> D. Councilman Murray reported on the meeting he and Councilwoman Buchan <br /> attended with the members of the County airport staff to work on the problem <br /> of airport noise and described the efforts of the County to receive funds <br /> from the FAA to conduct a study in order to enact a noise ordinance. <br /> (704-04) <br /> E.
