(302-14) <br /> CONSENSUS: It was determined by Mayor La Berge to be the consensus of the <br /> Council to schedule discussion of the Traffic Advisory Committee at the <br /> regular Council Meeting of September 14, 1992 <br /> MEMO 8/18/92 <br /> C. Councilman Greenalch referred to the letter the Council received from the <br /> County for the Family Housing and Homeless Trust Fund and described the <br /> uncertainty regarding what funds could be used. Councilman Greenalch <br /> suggested a two-pronged approach by forwarding this request to the Human and <br /> Housing Concerns Committee and having the City manager research appropriate <br /> funding. (101-03) <br /> CONSENSUS: It was determined by Mayor La Berge to be the consensus of the <br /> Council to refer the request from the Family Housing Trust Fund to the HHCC <br /> and the City Manager. <br /> MEMO 8/18/92 <br /> D. Councilman Bury advised that the Park and Recreation Commission wished to <br /> have a joint meeting with the Council and after discussion, the Council <br /> suggested the meeting take place Monday, October 5, 1992 in the Library <br /> Community Room. (302-04) <br /> MEMO 8/18/92 <br /> C. Councilwoman Buchan commended Police Officer Todd Hirsch and all the <br /> volunteers who helped sponsor the most successful tennis tournament at the <br /> Covenant Church Center to promote "Just Say No To Drugs". Councilwoman <br /> Buchan also announced that this year's tournament had attracted corporate <br /> sponsors. <br /> D. Councilwoman Buchan also announced that this year's Project Read Trivia Bee <br /> will be held on September 25th at Canada College and Councilman Greenalch <br /> announced that the Bee had also attracted corporate sponsors, Kaiser <br /> Hospital and BFI. <br /> E. Councilman Bury advised that the Civic Sluggers Softball Team would be <br /> taking on the Senior Team at McGarvey Field on September 3rd, with spring <br /> training beginning at 9:00 a.m. and the game beginning at 10:00 a.m. <br /> F. Councilman Murray advised that he and Councilwoman Buchan attended Project <br /> Read's barbeque and awards celebration on Saturday and commended all those <br /> engaged in this fine program. <br /> G. Councilman Murray reported on the latest meeting of C/CAG and advised that <br /> without the airport as part of congestion management there was little any <br /> plan could do; and, he was pleased to report that C/CAG was now negotiating <br /> with San Francisco International Airport for the airport and its environs to <br /> become part of the San Mateo County Congestion Management Plan as one large <br /> employer in the area. Councilman Murray also reported that AB 434 funds to <br /> be used to reduce pollution were given to SamTrans.
