Woods Construction, Inc. of San Francisco $3,138,000.00 <br /> Ranger Pipelines, Inc of San Francisco $3,255,000.00 <br /> Engineer's Estimate $2,512,604.00 <br /> Recommended Bidder: JMB Construction, Inc. of South San Francisco <br /> Substantiation: JMB Construction, Inc. of South San Francisco is the Lowest <br /> responsive and Responsible bidder <br /> The low bid of $2,708,000.00 submitted by JMB Construction, Inc. of South San <br /> Francisco is approximately 7.8% more than the engineer's estimate of $2,512,604.00. <br /> The current local construction boom is likely a factor, as it has resulted in contractors <br /> being able to charge higher prices for their services. JMB Construction, Inc. has <br /> successfully completed similar projects in the past and is a qualified contractor. Based <br /> on the bids received, staff believes that the low bid is reasonable and recommends <br /> awarding the contract to JMB Construction, Inc. <br /> Construction is expected to begin at the end of May, 2016, and conclude within 180 <br /> calendar days.
