JMB Construction, Inc. has <br /> successfully completed similar projects in the past and is a qualified contractor. Based <br /> on the bids received, staff believes that the low bid is reasonable and recommends <br /> awarding the contract to JMB Construction, Inc. <br /> Construction is expected to begin at the end of May, 2016, and conclude within 180 <br /> calendar days. The City will give notice to all residents who might be affected by the <br /> construction. <br /> ALTERNATIVES <br /> Council may choose not to award the contract and direct staff to redesign and/or rebid <br /> this project. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT <br /> Funds for this project have been approved and appropriated in the budget for Fiscal <br /> Year 2015/16 — Sewer Fund Capital Projects, Walnut Street Interceptor Replacement <br /> which has an available balance of $ 3,443,436.85 as of February 29, 2016. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br /> As the lead agency, City of Redwood City has determined that the Walnut Street and <br /> Maple Street Sewer Interceptor Improvement Project meets the California <br /> Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) exemption criteria as set forth in Section 15282(k) — <br /> (The installation of new pipeline or maintenance, repair, restoration, removal, or <br />
