6.1.C. - Page 10 <br /> than one foot per second in the line.While the cleaning nozzle is pulled back,the vacuum system shall be <br /> used to simultaneously remove debris flushed by the cleaning nozzle. <br /> CONTRACTOR shall use a root cutting nozzle to remove all debris. The root cutting nozzle shall revolve <br /> 360 degrees,be capable of cleaning at 6"-48"lines,and operate at 80 gallons per minute at a pressure of <br /> 3,000 pounds per square inch.Dislodged roots shall be captured and removed from the line either by the <br /> vacuum or a basket. <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall remove all sludge,dirt, sand,rocks,roots,grease and other solid or semisolid <br /> material resulting from the cleaning operation at the downstream manhole of the section being cleaned. <br /> Procedure for removing roots may include the use of mechanical equipment such as rodding machines <br /> and bucket machines using root cutters and porcupines. Passing material from manhole section to <br /> manhole section which could cause line stoppages, accumulations of sand in wet wells, or damage <br /> pumping equipment, shall not be permitted. Chemical root treatment shall not be used by the <br /> CONTRACTOR. <br /> Although hazardous materials are not expected, the CONTRACTOR shall contact the City, if such <br /> materials are found. The CONTRACTOR is responsible for proper removal and disposal of any found <br /> hazardous materials. <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall dispose all solids or semisolids resulting from the cleaning operations from the <br /> site at a suitably sanitary landfill site as defined by the Titles 22 and 23 of the California Administrative <br /> Code.Under no circumstances will the CONTRACTOR will be allowed to accumulate debris on the site. <br /> The Contractor will be allowed to store a debris container in the City Public Works Services Department <br /> corporation yard.The removal and disposal of solids shall be included in the agreed cost. <br /> If the CONTRACTOR encounters a surcharging manhole(flow exceeds the diameter of the sewer pipe), <br /> the CONTRACTOR shall immediately notify the City Public Works Services Department at (650-780- <br /> 7464)and provide information on the cause of the blockage. <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall prevent contract operations from causing a stoppage or overflow. In the event <br /> of a stoppage or overflow,the CONTRACTOR shall immediately notify the City Public Works Services <br /> Department at(650-780-7464).The CONTRACTOR shall remove the stoppage and contain and mitigate <br /> the overflow. Overflows shall be mitigated to the City's standards including property damage overflows <br /> that shall require cleaning and restoration. All costs for damages occasioned by the overflow are the <br /> responsibility of the CONTRACTOR. <br /> All water used in conjunction with the cleaning operations shall be metered and paid for by the <br /> Contractor. 1. Contractor shall pay an$800 deposit to Cash Collections at City Hall, 1017 Middlefield <br /> Road for the construction meter. Monthly service charge will be assessed at the current commercial rate <br /> for a 3"meter which is $427.32, in addition to the actual water usage. The receipt of payment shall be <br /> taken to the City's Public Works Services Department, 1400 Broadway, Redwood City, to pick up the <br /> water meter. Prior to final inspection,return meter to Public Works Services Department, who will read <br /> the meter and prepare billing for water usage. Lost or damaged meters will require forfeiture of deposits <br /> plus cost of meter replacement. <br /> CCTV Inspection <br /> Within 24 hours of cleaning the line, CONTRACTOR shall thoroughly inspect the sewer lines using <br /> CCTV equipment and WinCan version 8.30.0.2090 inspection software.The CCTV camera and monitor <br /> shall produce a minimum of 460 horizontal lines of resolution.
