The proposed 700-foot path would connect a recently completed bicycle path on Bair
Island Road to the existing bicycle path on Convention Way. The proposed project also includes an
extension of the pedestrian path to the City-owned parcel south of Convention Way with a scenic
overlook. The City proposes to construct the Bair Island Storm Drain Pump Station adjacent to the
proposed path. The new facilities would replace the existing pump station, which would be
demolished. The new pumps would be capable of discharging the 32.4 cfs flow from the 22-acre
drainage area during a 100-year storm event, in compliance with the City design criteria. The new
pump station would discharge through the existing 24-inch pipeline into Redwood Creek.
Lead Agency Contact
Name Tanisha Werner
Agency City of Redwood City •
Phone 650 780 7366 Fax
email
Address 1017 Middlefield Road
City Redwood City State CA Zip 94063
Project Location
County San Mateo
City Redwood City
Region
La /Long 37° 29'40.6"N 1122° 13'36.4"W
Cross Streets US 101, Bair Island Road, Convention Way
Parcel No. 052-383-210 and 052-531-020
Township 5S Range 2E Section 16 Base MDB&M
•
Proximity to:
Highways Hwy 101, 82, 84
Airports San Carlos
Railways Caltrain
Waterways Various
Schools Arbor Bay School, Boltan ES
Land Use Open space/Planned Community District(P)/Mixed Use-Waterfront Neighborhood and Mixed Use -
Corridor
Project Issues Aesthetic/Visual;Air Quality; Archaeologic-Historic; Biological Resources; Drainage/Absorption; Flood
Plain/Flooding; Geologic/Seismic; Noise; Recreation/Parks; Soil Erosion/Compaction/Grading;
Traffic/Circulation; Water Quality; Landuse; Cumulative Effects
Reviewing Resources Agency; Department of Fish and Wildlife, Region 3; Office of Historic Preservation;
Agencies Department of Parks and Recreation; Department of Water Resources; Caltrans, Division of
Aeronautics; California Highway Patrol; Caltrans, District 4; CA Department of Public Health; Air
Resources Board,Transportation Projects; State Water Resources Control Board, Divison of Financial
Assistance; Regional Water Quality Control Board, Region 2; Department of Toxic Substances Control;
Native American Heritage Commission; Public Utilities Commission
Date Received 08/23/2013 Start of Review 08/23/2013 End of Review 09/23/2013
