6.1.D. - Page 2
great attention to detail. In consideration of the excellent customer service provided and
exceptional service delivered by InfoSend, it is in the City's best interest to continue
using the expertise of InfoSend.
Additionally, InfoSend is offering no price increase with this extension for the next three
years. The postage rates are a direct pass through from the United States Postal
Services (USPS). Any USPS rate increases are automatically passed onto the City but
per item costs for InfoSend's services have not changed since entering into the
agreement in 2011.
ALTERNATIVES
The City Council could choose to not enter an agreement with InfoSend which would
require Redwood City staff to undertake an independent process for selecting a firm.
Any resulting agreement would likely be at an increased cost since InfoSend has not
increased the price nor adjusted by a consumer price index (CPI) since 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT
This contract provides for the same cost as has been paid for three years. The City
currently has budgeted for these funds in the Water Fund 687 Budget. In prior years,
the billing services expense has been approved by the City Council in the budget
process and staff recommends this process continue going forward.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under CEQA as defined in CEQA Guidelines, section
15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or foreseeable physical
change in the environment.
JUN NGUYEN
REVENUE SERVICES MANAGER
fr
- f
STARLA JEROME-ROBINSON
FINANCE DIRECTOR
