The report shall be submitted with the first building submittal, and
will be routed to the Public Works Department for review and coordination.
45. Upon a
final determination by the City that recycled water is available for the property, the
applicant shall connect the project to the recycled water system.
[COA][ENGINEERING]
a. If required by Public Works, the applicant shall hire a California licensed
engineer in the field of wastewater treatment to prepare and submit a report
pursuant to California Water Code section 13522.5 and California Code of
Regulations sections 60314 and 60323 (Title 22, Division 4, Chapter 3) prior to
building permit issuance. [COA][PUBLIC WORKS]
46. Discharge Permit for Subterranean Garages - If the subterranean garage will
necessitate groundwater pumping into the sewer system, a Discharge fee will apply
and a Discharge Permit will be required by Silicon Valley Clean Water (SCVW, formerly
South Bayside System Authority). [SDR][ENGINEERING]
a. In the event that the proposed garage becomes damaged or is otherwise
unusable, a substitute parking supply shall be provided per Article 30.13.
47. Backflow Protection — Backflow protection on domestic, fire, and irrigation water
services shall be required. The backflow preventer shall be above grade, and shall be
located on private property, accessible to the Public Works division from the outside for
testing. [COA][ENGINEERING]
48. Fire Flow - The Project shall meet fire flow requirements as established by the Fire
Department which are based on the Fire Code. Fire flow tests are typically performed
during the preliminary design phase but must be completed prior to submittal of final
design. Applicant shall contact the Fire Department for fire flow requirements, and then
submit a written fire flow test request to Engineering.
