2 . Notice is hereby given that , pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 (Gov ' t . C . § 35300 , et seq . ) , proceedings have been initiated to annex territory hereinafter described by petition signed by the owners of not less than one- fourth of the land in the territory by area , and by assessed value as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the county in which the territory is situated . 3 . February 28 , 1977 , at the hour of 7 : 30 o ' clock p . m . , or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard , in the Board of Supervisors Chambers , Hall of Justice and Records , Redwood City , San Mateo County , California , is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where the Council of the City of Redwood City will hear written protest against the annexation made by any person owning real property within the territory , which protest must be signed by such owner , and accompanied by the street address or other description of the property so owned . 4 . The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice , but not oftener than once a week , in the Redwood City Tribune , a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Redwood City , and also in the San Mateo Times , a newspaper of general circulation published outside of the City but in the County in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed . Said publication shall be completed at least 20 days prior to the date set for the hearing . The City Clerk is hereby further authorized and directed to cause written notice of the proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized County assessment roll available on the date the petition instituting the proceedings was filed , at the address shown on said assessment roll or as known to said - 2-
